For every step we take on our beaches, we cross over five wastes, ten every meter. Are mostly represented by plastic, a fragment for each step.

Help us map the presence of waste on the beaches. Read the form, follow the protocol and fill in the results online. Provide data collection that is affecting many other Mediterranean beaches. Knowing the type of waste funded on the beach is the first step to identify the causes of marine litter.

Beach litter͛’s data allows us to get preliminary information for the study of the beached garbage phenomenon, and particularly focusing on quantity, trend and possible sources, in relation with the European Directive about Marine Strategy (2008/56/CE).

The information that we will obtain through these samples, in the framework of Clean-up the Med, will be useful to survey the amount of trash thrown into the marine environment but also its source and act finding specific solutions and changing behaviours.
