COMMON project: the Jellyfish robot strikes again

The COMMON project in Tunisia, thanks to its staff at the Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer (INSTM), once again demonstrates the formidable efficiency of the ‘Jellyfish robot‘, a small floating robot that “loves” to eat marine litter. On 20 of October, in just 40 minutes of work in the waters of the port of Bizerte, the JellyfishBot collected over 40 kg of waste, including the following objects:

– 1 children’s toy

– 1 barbecue

– 3 tires

– 1 kg of fabric

– 25 kg of plastic bottles

– 5 kg of cans

– 2 kg glass bottles

– 10 kg packaging

A very nice initiative organized by the team of the INSTM on the stage of the Blue Panda, the sailboat of the WWF Tunisia that is currently cruising the Mediterranean Sea to raise public awareness of the problem of marine litter and the consequences on marine biodiversity.
